Manoj Meena
Founder, Chairman & Managing Director, Atomberg
Chief Executive Officer, Atomberg Innovation Private Limited
Manoj Meena is the Founder, Chairman & Managing Director of Atomberg, a deep-tech, R&D-led consumer technology company, and Chief Executive Officer of Atomberg Innovation Private Limited (AIPL), Atomberg’s B2B components manufacturing subsidiary. In his combined remit, he leads both Atomberg’s long-term vision and its core engineering and innovation roadmap, anchoring its evolution into a multi-category, platform-led technology business.
Manoj’s interest in energy efficiency was shaped early. Growing up in rural Rajasthan, where access to reliable electricity was limited, he developed a lasting conviction that Indian households deserved appliances built specifically for Indian operating conditions, designed for both performance and power efficiency, rather than adapted from global blueprints.
He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2011 with a dual degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering. During his time at IIT Bombay, he was conferred the Tech Color of the Institute in 2008, recognizing his early leadership at the institute, and the Institute Tech Citation Award in 2011, for his contributions to the field.
Atomberg was founded in 2011 and incubated at IIT Bombay in 2012. Between 2012 and 2015, Manoj led the foundational engineering work through projects in Data Acquisition Systems, Embedded & Control Systems, and Motor Designs that culminated in Atomberg's first BLDC (Brushless DC) motor prototype for ceiling fans, a breakthrough that delivered substantially lower power consumption than conventional alternatives without compromising on performance. That single innovation became the basis for what is today a five-generation motor platform, with successive generations delivering meaningful improvements in efficiency, form factor, integrated control electronics and cost.
Anchored in a first-principles, India-first engineering philosophy, Manoj has built Atomberg as a platform-led technology company rather than a single-category brand. The company operates a dual-engine model. The consumer appliances business spans ceiling fans, mixer grinders, water purifiers, kitchen appliances, smart locks, and other home appliance categories, while AIPL, the B2B components arm, designs and supplies critical motor and electronics components to leading OEMs across appliances, automotive, industrial and emerging sectors such as defense, medical and space technologies. Both businesses share a common, modular technology stack spanning motors, power electronics, control systems, embedded software, connectivity and industrial design.
As Chairman & Managing Director, Manoj sets Atomberg’s overall vision, governance and long-term strategy. As CEO of AIPL, he dedicates focused leadership time to scaling the components business and ensuring that the company’s R&D and product capabilities continue to drive its next phase of growth, in Indian consumer households as well as in enterprise applications globally.
Manoj has been featured in Forbes' '30 Under 30' lists for both India and Asia, and in the Economic Times '40 Under Forty'. He is a recipient of the National Entrepreneurship Award from the Government of India and the Young Alumnus Achiever Award from IIT Bombay.
